The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is scheduled to be the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international men’s association football championship contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It is schedule to take place in Qatar in 2022. This will the second World Cup held entirely in Asia after the 2002 tournament in South Korea and Japan. Laundering related to the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. 6 August 2018, former FIFA president Sepp Blatter claimed that Qatar had used “black ops”. Suggesting that the bid committee had cheated to win the hosting rights.

On 20 May 2020, the World Cup organizing committee secretary general Hassan Al Thawadi raised a concern that the global economy could witness a recession period due to the coronavirus pandemic, which in turn will impact the ability of football fans to afford traveling and to participate in the celebrations of 2022 FIFA World Cup.
